Hey There

What we teach

LCF is a confessional Reformed church that is committed to the expository preaching and teaching of God’s Word. We affirm the following theological distinctives:

The Five Solas

The “Five Solas” is a term used to designate five great foundational rallying cries of the Protestant reformers. They are as follows: “Sola Scriptura” (Scripture Alone); “Sola Gratia” (Grace Alone); “Sola Fide” (Faith Alone); “Solus Christus” (Christ Alone); and “Soli Deo Gloria” (To the Glory of God Alone). Therefore, we affirm The Cambridge Declaration. To learn more about the Five Solas, click here.

The 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith

We believe that God’s Word teaches the truths expressed most clearly and succinctly in The 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith (also known as the 2nd London Baptist Confession). The purpose of creeds and confessions is to express our understanding of what God’s Word teaches about fundamental Christian doctrines. Hence, we affirm this confession, as it articulates our theological convictions.

The Authority of the Bible

We believe that God’s Word is divinely inspired, and therefore, inerrant. In the words of our confession: “The Holy Scripture is the only sufficient, certain, and infallible rule of all saving knowledge, faith, and obedience.” Hence, we further affirm The Chicago Statement of Biblical Inerrancy and The Chicago Statement on Biblical Hermeneutics.

Complementarianism

We believe that God created men and women equal in worth and value but complementary in their roles in the home and the church. Hence, we affirm The Danvers Statement, a widely held evangelical explanation of the Bible’s teaching on gender roles.

Biblical Justice

We believe that biblical justice is a far cry from the social justice that this fallen world proclaims. Hence, we affirm The Statement on Social Justice & the Gospel because we believe that only the gospel of Jesus Christ can change the heart of sinners. Ultimate justice and righteousness will reign when Jesus Christ returns to set up his kingdom on earth. Until then, we are committed to the preaching of the gospel to the glory of God.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, - 2 Timothy 3:16
